In 2015 Sportsbeat were asked to extend their coverage of the RBS 6 Nations to include a bespoke video service focusing on the Women’s and U20s tournaments. Over the past two years we have produced a wealth of in-depth and behind the scenes short form video content, designed to appeal to established and new audiences across the brand’s digital and social channels.
This has been an incredibly rewarding project to work on, with our crews travelling to Wales, Scotland, Ireland and France to film with the squads on location. Our coverage has included everything from match action highlights to coverage of the official launch of the women’s tournament, as well as player-focused content, social-media tailored footage and content looking at specific areas of the game.
Our video content has delivered thousands of online views helping to drive the RBS 6 Nations’ YouTube channel, and allowed us to be a part of an exciting drive to shine a light on parts of the international game that are less well served by mainstream media outlets uncovering some of the characters and stories that bring the game to life for viewers and fans.
Already a media partner to the RBS 6 Nations provide a year-round news service to the competition’s ever-growing website, this video series has been a perfect extension of what has been a brilliant relationship over recent years.
