The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials is sport’s premier three-day event, attracting the very best riders in the world to tackle dressage, show jumping and the world’s toughest cross country course.

As an existing media partner to the event, we were thrilled in 2015 to be commissioned by CAA Sports Consulting to provide a video news and syndication service as part of the event’s pre-event and event-time marketing and PR strategy.

Working closely with the event media team, our brief was to help drive awareness of the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials in domestic and international markets, with a focus on the UK, Europe, New Zealand and Australia.

This included syndicating daily b-roll and audio clips to TV and radio broadcasters within minutes of the results going live, producing interview and presenter-led packages for web and short films focusing on the event’s attractions away from the show ground.

Commissioned to provide the same service again in 2016, Sportsbeat produced more than 50 event-time videos that appeared on 140-plus websites around the world including some of equestrian’s leading digital platforms, generating an advertising equivalent of more than £290,000.

Working with the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials team gave us fantastic access to some of the sport’s biggest stars and allowed us to take fans behind the scenes to create exclusive content celebrating what makes the event unique, making the campaign both a commercial and a creative success.
